Features of the calculation process of forming a pipe blank on a plot of stepwise molding press line ТESA–1420

There are proposed methods of calculation of geometrical parameters for the workpiece and deforming tool for mold press forming step line ТESA–1420 longitudinally welded large diameter pipes.
The article is taken into account the change of coordinates of the fixed points of the profile of the workpiece during the loading (forming) and unloading on each separate step to the surface of the workpiece with the punch and free flexible. It is allows to perform a paired аssembly of the workpiece for the entire profile, including the edge. It is offered an analysis of the dimensions of the finished profile by the value of the gap and the ratio of the horizontal and vertical size of the workpiece. The change of reductions on certain steps of the molding allows to change the value of the gap between the edges of the workpiece and the ratio between horizontal and vertical dimensions of the molded profile, to control the process of forming.

Trends in the development of cross-wedge rolling

The use of cross-wedge rolling method in metal-working industry allows development of new high-productive low-waste technologies designed to produce shaped billets for subsequent precision forging or other plastic forming processes. Main parameters of cross-wedge rolling process are described. Main tendencies of cross-wedge rolling theory and practice development are investigated.

Structure changing in medium-alloy steels after laser hardening and surface modification

There are studied the regularities of formation of structure and properties of medium alloy steels during laser hardening and laser modification. Surface treatment is performed by using a CO2 continuous wave laser «KOMETА-2». During melting the surface layers is formed with plastic base and very solid refractory reinforcing particles.
For the purpose of increasing the thickness of the deposited layer and the depth of the hardening zone hardening is tested twice repeated treatment with applying slip layer and subsequent modification using the selected mode. Analysis of the results shows that the nature of the distribution curve of hardness recasting of the modified layer remains unchanged. In addition, conducted experiments with the application of the same modified layers on the substrate samples of the selected steels with various advanced heat treatment. For the purpose of reconstructing the structure of the substrate material is also tested purescale samples of steels subjected to laser modification, which consists in additional heating in a resistance furnace and rapid cooling at different speeds.
Overall, the modification by laser melting the surface is difficult to analyze and describe the totality of phenomena that influence the magnitude and distribution of residual stresses. However, a proven method of hardening, the laser processing parameters and a set of techniques of thermal processing are allowed to choose the material and heat treatment of the samples with a thin sharpened to a wedge edge, able to withstand heavy shock loads without cracking and to resist abrasive wear.

Structure and properties of surface layers of steel 34CrNi1Мo after electrolytic-plasma nitriding

The article presents research results of the structure and properties of the surface layers of the structural steel 34CrNi1Mo after electrolytic-plasma nitriding. The paper presents the scheme of equipment which is carried out on electrolyte-plasma processing. The efficiency of nitriding of parts made of steel 34CrNi1Mo in electrolytic plasma on the proposed technology to improve the structure and properties of surface layers is shown. It is established the possibility of obtaining of modified superficial layers of the steel in the mode with a duration of 3-7 min and a temperature in the range 700...750° C using as the electrolyte an aqueous solution of 30 % urea ((NH2)2CO) and 15 % sodium carbonate (Na2CO3). After electrolytic-plasma nitriding is revealed that microhardness of surface layers grows 1,5–2 times compared with the initial state, due to the emergence of new strengthening phases. The quality of the surface after electrolytic-plasma nitriding meets the requirements of critical parts operating friction.

Enhancement of performance characteristics and resource of stamps for hot forging, restored by welding

This article discusses the causes of low durability of dies for hot forging, restored by welding, and possible ways to improve resource restored stamps. On the basis of the experiments revealed that the stamps must be subjected to heat treatment modes, providing the minimum range of hardness and most uniform structure in the cross section of the weld dies. It is important to use a material with a chemical composition the most rational of dies for die forging, operating at temperatures up to 700 °C. Additional polishing engraving of the stamp allows to increase the resistance.
Keywords: hot forging; welding; restoration of stamps.

Simulation of the process of cold forging of eccentric pipe passages by combined method «pressing-expansion»

On the basis of calculations with use of program complex Deform 3D, there is shown the influence of procurement forms on the amount of mechanical processing to achieve the required geometry. The comparative analysis of various theories of friction, proposed by Siebel’s and Coulomb's laws, is presented. It is revealed that the the law and the friction coefficient have a significant impact on the final shape of the geometry, with the strength of stamping depending on the friction law have significant differences. However, experiments with the combined law of friction give undefined results, so when carrying out the practical experiment should be guided by the Coulomb friction for optimum power punching. The tests show that the least backups and more favorable geometry for the workpiece is the workpiece with different angles of the cut ends.
