Recovery of Plasticity at Isothermal Hot Fractional Forming

The method of a blank forming limit calculation in the processes of fractional forming taking into account plasticity recovery in intervals between reductions per die (drafts), duration of such intervals and values of fractional deformation is developed. Results of calculation of process of a blank fractional upsetting with using the method offered are close to experimental results.

Analysis of Optimum Mode of Superplastic Forming of 3-sheet Structures with Ridged Filler of Titanium Alloys

The article offers a method of analysis of a superplastic forming mode of 3-sheet structures with ridged filler constructed within the frames of basic assumptions of the theory of momentless shells. The method is meant for analysis of pressure time cycle and engineering evaluation of parameters of stress-strain state in the deformation zone.

New Manufacturing Technology of Steel Piston Rings

Technology of manufacturing steel piston rings by the method of drawing and thermal treatment is developed. According to the production tests, the service durability of steel rings is 1.5 – 2.0 times higher than that of cast iron rings.

Construction of Strength Diagram of a Crank Machine

The article considers the method of constructing graphs of allowable forces on the sliding ram of a crank machine based on the strength of unsafe cross-sections of the main shaft, the performance of gear pair driving it, and the moment transmitted by the coupling. The article presents the analysis of these graphs and strength diagrams obtained on their basis.

Mathematical and Finite-Elements Simulation of Superplastic Forming of Shell from Round Welded Sheet Stack

The process of superplastic forming of sheet stack consisting of two round sheets welded along the perimeter is considered. A mathematical model including threshold stress as a parameter is offered. Results of calculations by analytic formulae are compared numerical solutions of boundary value problem of viscoplasticity obtained in ANSYS environment.

Simulation of the Formation of Funnel at Extrusion in Software Package QFORM

Simulation of the process of central funnel at the final stage of extrusion at variability of the extrusion ratio and the type of material is performed using the software package QFORM. It is revealed that the depth of funnel penetration increases with increase of the extrusion ratio. The greatest depth of funnel penetration occurs when extrusion strengthening material, and the least depth occurs when extrusion weakening material.
