Calculation of Stamping Force for Forged Pieces of Elongated Shape when Selecting the Equipment

Finite element modeling has been conducted with the use of Simufact (MSC. Superforge) software package for the open stamping process of forged workpieces manufactured from 45 and 45X steel using crank hot-stamping machines (CHSM) within the temperature range of 800–1200 ?С. Comparative analysis of the modeling results combined with the calculation results of formulas of the common stamping force for CHSM provided the review of formulas adjustment options enabling the optimization of primary stamping equipment selection.
