The study of the free plastic flow of the flange of the workpiece during extracting the inner surface

The article demonstrates necessary formulas for the successful design of technological process of extraction on the inner surface taking into account the stage of deformation of the flange of the workpiece in terms of its free radial flow. High accuracy and reliability of the design formulas are confirmed by comparison with experimental data.
Keywords: stamping; plug with flange; range hood; voltage.

On the use of the term «severe plastic deformation» for the description of metal forming processes aimed at structure refinement in metals due to a considerable shear strain

Some arguments are advanced for a justified use of the term «severe plastic deformation» to designate metal forming processes aimed primarily at structure refinement, down to the ultrafine-grained and nanometer ranges, due to the accumulation of a considerable shear strain in metallic billets.
Keywords: severe plastic deformation; strain value; strain intensity.

The analysis model of unsteady deformation

A model for calculating the parameters of the shaping process, taking into account nonstationary deformation. The model used in the energy calculation method using discontinuous velocity fields of displacements.
Keywords: velocity field; the line of velocity discontinuity; unsteadiness; pressure continuity.

The drawing of complicated geometry sheet parts by elastic medium in the rigid matrix

The method of drawing sheet parts of complicated geometry with cavities, pockets and other constructive elements by elastic medium into rigid matrix is suggested. The implementation of the given method allows to extend the technological possibilities of drawing process, to improve the effectiveness and quality of manufactured parts. The development of industrial technology for manufacturing of aircraft IL-96M interior components was based on the given method.
Keywords: drawing; sheet part; elastic medium; rigid matrix.

Redistribution of strain in multipass drawing operations

Compare of the form of the deformation zone, used to describe the drawing process in a research setting and obtained by solving the problem of the finite element method is satisfied. A software module RAPID-2D, developed in the Ural Federal University, applied to solve the problem. Forms of deformation zone described by the strain rate fields. It was revealed that the zone forms have differences, which depend on the number of drawing passes. After reaching a certain level of work hardening instead of a single maximum rate of deformation, which is located on the axis of the drawing, two maxima are shifted with respect to the axis of drawing may appear. It proposed to take this into account for assessing the risk of the emergence of macro pores in the article.
Keywords: drawing; macropore; plastic deformation; finite element method; strain rate.

The influence of design on productivity technological process

Technological features of deformation of porous blanks in closed dies and their impact on the cost and performance of die tooling are shown in the article. The analysis of reasons of low productivity during hot forging in closed dies is presented. There is described the proposed technological scheme showing the feature position of the forming tool on the characteristic stages of the cycle of hot forging and allowing to minimize the above limitations. On its basis it is developed a stamp for hot forging of powder forgings of complex shape. This stamp is designed in accordance with the presented technological scheme operating to reduce the speed of the process to 10…15 sec, which corresponds to the increased productivity of up to 4...6 PCs/min.
Keywords: powder; hot forging; stamp for pressing and stamping.

Modeling of bending of bimetallic material

The article is dedicated to numerical study of bending of a bimetallic strip in the program AutoForm (Zurich, Switzerland). Tapering is defined by the material layers in the bending process. On the basis of numerical simulation results of dependence of tapering in the samples when you delete a measurement location from the center of the bend are shown. The influence of the location of layers in the bending process on tapering of the multilayer sample.
Keywords: modeling of bending; bimetallic sample; single-angle bending; tapering of layers of material; editing of the sample.

Evaluation of cold formability of sheet metal

Currently increasing attention in the metal forming processes is given to problems of the quality stabilizing of manufactured products. The reason for this may be several factors mainly related to source material, the tool and / or the choice of manufacturing technology. The changes of source material quality in the permitted range are still the most important one of these factors leading to waste. In this article a number of energy indicators for cold formability of high strength sheet steels were considered. On the example of a source material from four different manufacturers the indicators were identified which allow the selecting of the best manufacturer.
Keywords: sheet metal forming; formability; high strength steels.
